Workforce Development Month

September is Workforce Development Month!

All month, we will celebrate the people, programs, partnerships and possibilities that make up the world of work. The North Central Texas region is thriving, and there are vast opportunities for career seekers to chart a course to their first job, upskill for a better position, gain a certification or degree, or train for a career change. No matter your current situation, we can help you make a career comeback.

Each week, discover ways you can benefit from our workforce programs, support services and funding, as well as our ecosystem of partnerships that can help you reach your career goals.

History of Workforce Development Month
Workforce Development Month was created in 2005 by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) to raise awareness about the importance of our industry to a growing national economy. Originally celebrated in May, NAWDP moved the designation to September in 2012. The U.S. Senate passed a resolution in 2021 naming September Workforce Development Month.
