Polk Named to the North Central Texas Workforce Development Board
Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas (WSNCT) announces the appointment of Brittenie Polk to its Board of Directors. She brings nearly two decades of experience in educational leadership, adult education, and workforce development—key partnerships that drive the North Central Texas economy.
Brittenie Polk is Director of Adult Education and Literacy for Weatherford ISD, where she oversees program operations, financial management, and departmental budget planning, and collaborates with the Texas Workforce Commission on grant-funded initiatives supporting adult learners.
Under Polk’s leadership, Weatherford ISD secured a five-year, $750,000 annual grant in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission to expand adult education services, and the district earned a $50,000 performance award for exceeding grant-funded outcomes. She also led development of a new automated enrollment and compliance system, streamlining access for adult learners pursuing new career pathways.
"Brittenie brings deep expertise in adult education and workforce alignment," said Phedra Redifer, Executive Director of Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas. "Adding her expertise strengthens our ability to partner with educational institutions and helps ensure our board is equipped to prepare adult learners with the skills and training they need to launch new careers."
As a board member, Polk will support WSNCT’s efforts to connect businesses with a skilled workforce and expand opportunities for individuals through education, training, and work-based learning. She was appointed to represent Palo Pinto County by Palo Pinto County Judge Shane Long.
