What Is the Teacher Externship Program?
The Teacher Externship Program bridges the gap between classrooms and the workplace. Selected teachers partner with local businesses and organizations to spend time working alongside industry professionals. This unique experience helps educators see firsthand how businesses operate, what skills are essential for different roles, and how they can incorporate these real-world insights into their teaching.
During the program, the participating teachers will collaborate with their host companies to create new lessons that connect what students are learning in school with the demands of the working world. Beyond the classroom, this program fosters stronger connections between education and industries that are vital to the North Central Texas economy.
